POSITIVE BLACK MEN SERIES: RON SCOTT JR

Black men continue to stand up and show the community that they care. Do you see that teenager there? He's helping Black teenagers in the community.
Who: Ron Scott Jr.
Where: West Virginia
Profession: Educator
Here is what he is doing....
Event organizer and Wheeling Park High School educator Ron Scott, Jr., will honor African American Seniors at an award ceremony based on the progress made on their GPAs. He said "we contacted all the area guidance counselors at the high schools and asked for listings of the students. We asked for their GPA's and overall progress. Some had just brought their grades up a point or more. We asked them to forward those names to us and the ones that deserved the recognition we were giving out."
On May 27, 2010, at the Wheeling Campus of West Virginia Northern Community College, several of these students will receive well-deserved recognition for all their hard work in school and the community.
Again, the African-American Senior Awards Banquet will be held on May 27, 2010, from 7-9 p.m. at WVNCC's main auditorium.
