IN YOUR CITY! LOCAL CHANGE!
We are the leaders is a mantra that is currently being chanted by a group of change agents that have pledged to seriously make an IMPACT in their own communities.
They have decided to join the IMPACT think tank and make a difference in the Black Community, throughout the world. Black leadership usually has no real rites of passage. And there are so many Black leaders that gain their leadership title by default or by extreme necessity-former leader was assasinated or former leader was alienated. Usually our leaders who take on the awesome burden and leadership role have no support system: they have no leadership peer council, no leadership grooming program nor do they have a succession plan. Besides that, the Black community doesn't even get to decide which person they believe should lead them or help guide them-or even speak for them, they don't get a chance to help shape the platform that the leader stands on, they don't get to vote in an election on who should speak for them until now ! With the leadership guidance of radio personality Norm Bond, each week a group of elite thinkers- not only begin to create solutions that can truly help the community, they present these ideas to the community, allowing the community to fund programs that will solve community problems, vote on which issues that we should address and solve, promote the most sound program and offer their opinions on the proposed solutions.
What makes these leaders even more exceptional is that they are creating mock solutions before a crisis hits the Black Community. They aren't sitting around waiting for another Oscar Grant, Sean Bell, Hurricane Katrina, Haiti, Jena 6 to respond; they are creating solutions and alternative plans to respond effectively and soundly before a community crisis occurs. While others are looking around asking the question, 'Where are our Black leaders?'
Any problem that you can think of they are currently working on the solution to assist the community. Collectively: Mary Nichols, Cavanaugh Nweze, Carmen Dixon, Rasheedah Carty, Norm Bond, Cassy Jones, Martin Pratt, Aiesha Turman, Jemille Roberts, Shonika Proctor, Bryan Nance, Jaymeson Jiles, Sean Xavier, Kevin Green, Viva Fidel, Najla Williams, Jesse Muhammad, Yalanda Lattimore, Kendra Alexander, Lauren Coleman, Lewis Sylvester, Delano Bogle, Lillian Ogbogoh, Taiasha Montez, Sean Walton Jr, Jesse Muhammad and the think tank keeps growing - have all pledged to help their communities and to help create a solution for a specific ongoing persistent problem that affects the Black Community.
